SpankOut Day Opportunity
Center for Effective Discipline, a program of Gundersen National Child Protection Training Center (Gundersen NCPTC), is pleased to announce support for organizations that would like to implement a No Hit Zone.
A No Hit Zone is an environment that supports a culture of safety and health where:
- No adult shall hit another adult.
- No adult shall hit a child.
- No child shall hit an adult.
- No child shall hit another child.
No Hit Zones provide education and promote healthy relationships and safe environments across the lifespan. Hitting is harmful in any relationship. No Hit Zones raise awareness that hitting increases risk for harm, especially for children. Hitting a child as a form of punishment is harmful to a child’s physical, emotional and mental health development. No Hit Zones support effective discipline alternatives that promote child learning, health and positive development.
In recognition of SpankOut Day on April 30, 2017, Gundersen NCPTC is pleased to offer No Hit Zone Resource Kits to 23 organizations seeking to become a No Hit Zone. No Hit Zone Kits include posters, educational brochures, vinyl decals, magnets and stickers. These resources will serve as a visible sign that your organization is a designated No Hit Zone supporting healthy kids and safer communities.
